This word is always a great reminder of why we push forward everyday. To see another sunrise, we all should be so grateful, but it is always the journey as they say, that we chose to get out of bed everyday. Make everyday a pleasure to at least be there in the moment. As we see negative events everyday realize that you have a chance to make it better. Go step by step on things you can do to improve yourself. Whether that be re-evaluating yourself or re-evaluating your lifestyle, all of us realize improvement or acknowledgement of improvement is a great thing.

Asking a question, it is a simple task, many people do it, some in shy ways others in very direct ways. It can be easy, it can also be very difficult, but it always leads back to this, did you ask the question? I’m sure a lot of individuals make difficult choices for some the most difficult choice is to make the decision to take action. Athletes, politicians, business executives, and pretty much any person who has walked this earth made a decision to act on a goal. The hardest step is always the first. Whether it be using JobMedian.com to make that first step towards your new horizon or to a gentleman I met having a drink with my father at a restaurant called Colt and Gray. His name was Nelson, we were talking about cooking, one of my hobbies, and how he decided cooking to him was no longer a hobby. He went on to discuss that he, after a successful 15 year career in financial trading and management gave it all up for a career in the food industry. He went to culinary school and grinded through a tough NYC restaurant industry to having his own, successful restaurant called Colt and Gray. My jaw hit the floor, this man was an example, he showed how taking that step forward, could you imagine how tough that was. Many people have different cases, but one thing always is there, did they take that step forward? Did you take the initiative, because if you are asking yourself why? Shouldn’t you be asking yourself when will I?

As I watched many students graduate Metropolitan State College of Denver this past weekend it had me thinking of that “freedom” feeling we get when we finish school. You become so excited with the prospect of a new chapter in your life, overcoming a great hurdle, or just the sense of accomplishment, but what now?! Many graduates I’m sure are having that, “What are you going to do now, have you called so and so for a possible option”, talk with parents, and I’m sure it has been a tedious one. But take a step back for a moment and realize what you have in front of you. An amazing tool that was designed specifically for this situation finding friends who work at companies you may want to work for and better yet are references you can potentially use.
